If notification of late move-in is not submitted in advance of move-in and space is not completely set by 5:00pm on Tuesday, May 16, the space will be considered abandoned, and Show Management will repurpose the space as they see fit.
Internet Access: The WCD offers free wireless internet service throughout the facility which is intended for causal users. If you are relying on the internet to showcase your products or services, it is recommended a wired internet connection be ordered for guaranteed connections. Internet service can be ordered through the WCD online store which is accessible in the exhibitor service manual.
Union Jurisdictions: Wisconsin is “right-to-work” state and therefore, exhibitor personnel may set up their own exhibits if so desired using their own tools and company personnel. Union Labor is available to assist in the installation and dismantling of exhibit booths. Exhibit labor, freight and rigging labor, electricians and plumbers can be arranged for at established rates, using the order forms located in the exhibitor service manual.
Open Dock Policy: WCD has an “open loading dock” policy, which means, except for electrical and mechanical service connections, there are no restrictions on exhibitors’ ability to load, unload, move in, move out, set up and strike their own exhibits. As safety is our main priority and in order to comply with both WCD’s open dock policy and the terms set forth in the show decorator’s labor agreement, no more than two individuals from each exhibiting company will be allowed on the dock at any given time during move-in and move-out.
Loading Docks: The Wisconsin Center loading dock entrance is located at 850 N. 6th Street. The dock can only be entered from the North helix and must always be exited via the South helix.
Material Handling: Shepard Exposition Services has the responsibility of receiving and handling all exhibit materials that arrives via over-the-road carriers and to manage the loading docks and for scheduling vehicles for unloading and loading to ensure a smooth and efficient move-in and move-out of the exhibition. Exhibitors may not operate or utilize any type of powered or mechanical equipment.
Unloading Privately Owned Vehicles (POVs): Exhibitors may unload privately owned vehicles providing they meet the following criteria:
Allowed POVs Include: Not Considered POVs:
Passenger Automobiles Trailers of any kind
Mini Vans Step Vans
SUVs Box Trucks
Pick-up Trucks Full Size Vans
Carpeting: Although carpeting is installed clean, because it is installed during move-in, we highly recommended you order a protective covering (visqueen), to maintain the cleanliness of your carpeting and protect it from excess debris. If visqueen is applied by an Exhibitor Appointed Contractor (EAC), it is their responsibility to remove the visqueen prior to show opening.
Vacuuming: is not included in carpet rental fees and need to
be ordered separately. To order booth vacuuming, please
refer to the Exhibitor Booth Cleaning order form in the
exhibitor service manual or place your order onsite at the
exhibitor service center.
Empty Removal: Once your crates, boxes, skids, etc. are completely unpacked and empty, be sure to label them with “empty” stickers as soon as you are ready for them to be removed. Crate return is not conducted in reverse order of crate pick-up, so there is no advantage to waiting until the last minute to label your empties.
Security: Although WCD provides 24-hour security coverage for the facility, each exhibitor is responsible for the security of their belongings within their booth. Please do not leave items of value in your booth unattended without taking security precautions. Exhibitors with expensive equipment in their booths may consider ordering security for the overnight hours between show end and the next day’s show start. The WCD has an exclusive security contract with PerMar Security Services and this service can be ordered via the WCD online store which is accessible via the exhibitor manual.
Emergency Situations: In the event of a serious emergency (Fire, Police, Medical), call Public Safety at x6165 to report the location, type of emergency, and the condition of the individual in the medical emergency. The public safety officer answering your call will follow up with the appropriate emergency services agency. In the case of medical emergencies, please stay with the individual until help arrives, and administer first aid to the level of your training and ability.
Bulk Waste Removal: Exhibitors are required to remove all floor coverings and display materials from their exhibit space prior to leaving the facility during move out. Exhibitors who abandon or leave excessive amounts of trash behind will be charged to remove these materials.
Move-Out: A Move-Out Bulletin will be distributed to each booth on Thursday morning and will include complete move-out instructions. No material may be dismantled, packed, loaded, or removed prior to 3:00 pm on Thursday, May 18.
Any exhibit materials remaining on the show floor at 12:00 pm on Friday, May 19 (without a Material Handling form turned in to Shepard AND a carrier on site for pick-up) will be forced from the floor and either returned to the advance receiving warehouse or re-routed via a carrier of Shepard’s choosing.

Empty Return: Empty crate return will begin as soon as the
aisle carpet is removed and will take approximately ten hours
to complete. Remember to take this into consideration when
making your travel arrangements.
